Hank Brennan (aka Alaska Hank) ... is semi-retired but still paints houses once in a while. In 2008 he and his brother are taking a Vancouver (to) Alaskan Cruise including passage through British Columbia's spectacular northwest coast. This is a long dreamed of holiday.
As his video travelogue is being planned and progresses, I are confident that he will do an exceptional job. You might want to follow along.
He is an experienced videographer and is promising beautiful results after he returns this fall. We expect to learn a great deal from his 'new age' Web 2.0+ type of travelogue.
Interestingly enough, he is funding the entire trip with re-cycling that he has been doing over the past 3 years.
“During the early 70s & 80s I played bass guitar in several country/rock bands. In the past 3 years, I've taken a serious interest in videography and editing which has become my passion. It is only now that I am starting to make a little money at it but the truth is, I'll video tape anything for anyone just because I enjoy it. Every family occasion is a special event and just to see their expressions after they've watched a completely edited DVD, is payment in itself. On a professional level, I enjoy filming Weddings and Special Events".
“My main objective is to film the entire cruise from start to finish and edit a 2 hour movie on DVD. You will see stunning aerial footage of the Glaciers taken from a helicopter and spectacular Whale Watching scenes from the ship. Visiting each Port of Call is part of this exciting journey so strolling through the streets and visiting each shop with camera in hand will feel like a virtual visit when you see this film. I will be using a Sony HDR-FX1 3 CCD Camera and will be filmed in HD (High Definition). A copy of this movie, along with your name in the movie credits, will be sent to each and every contributor as a thank you for helping to make this long time dream come true.”
